WHAT'S INCLUDED

Often confused with a service, this is the general tuning of the engine. Most cars manufactured after 1990 need tuning every 40,000 km due to manufacturers changing the ignition systems from points to electronic. This involves checking engine compression and replacing spark plugs and fuel filter, testing spark plug leads, resetting base values and reference points for the computer, which controls the fuel injection and ignition mapping of the engine. This will improve the starting, fuel economy, and general performance of the vehicle.

 

SCHEDULE

 

Every 40,000 km on most unleaded vehicles. Some models with platinum spark plugs only need replacing every 100,000 km.
